Rose Parade Returns for ’22

The annual New Year’s Day Rose Parade in Pasadena returned to Colorado Boulevard for 2022. Event organizers expected 700,000 spectators along the six miles of the parade route. Many viewers camped out on Colorado over night to secure a good view of the festivities which kick off at 8:00 am on January 1. The 2022 Grand Marshal is Reading Rainbow host and actor, LeVar Burton. The Rose Queen is high school senior, Nadia Chung, of La Canada High School reports CBS LA. Chung is a reporter for the LA Times HS Insider Section, is a dancer for CCY Ballet and is the President of the Speech & Debate Team at her school. Chung and the other members of the Rose Court will receive a $7,500 scholarship for college.

The 2022 Rose Bowl football game, scheduled at 2:00 pm on January 1, features the Ohio State Buckeyes against the Pac-12 champion Utah Utes. The Buckeyes are led by Rancho Cucamonga native QB CJ Stroud (3.8k yards and 38 TDs) and the Utes are led by QB Cameron Rising (2.2k yds and 18 TDs).
