Spotify’s head of global trends, Shanon Cook, shared the most streamed Christmas songs of 2020 with Today. “A successful holiday song… evokes… comfort, coziness, the thrill of being… with family and friends, or longing to see someone you love,” said Cook. At the top of the Spotify list were Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas, Wham!’s Last Christmas, and Ariana Grande’s Santa Tell Me.

Christmas marks the time of year when LA radio station KOST 103.5 (adult popular) surges to the top of the most popular radio stations in Los Angeles. Starting Nov 12, KOST began playing 24 hour Christmas songs. In October they held a 6.3 Nielsen rating, with 2.5M listeners, ahead of K-Earth 101 (classic pop), KBIG 104.3 (adult pop), and KIIS 102.7 (new pop) 1.8M listeners
